Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to general management, the person holding the position will be responsible for supervising the team of 6 landscape architects, planning, coordinating, and executing various park and urban development projects. The Director of the Landscape Architecture Department plays a key role in defining concepts, schedules, and budgets for various landscape architecture projects in collaboration with their team. The incumbent ensures coordination between engineers and other involved professionals, ensuring coherence and efficiency of all interventions. They also ensure the smooth progress of construction work. They guarantee that each project meets client expectations while complying with applicable laws, standards, and codes. They oversee the quality of deliverables by implementing policies and protocols adapted to their area of expertise and guide their team to achieve the set performance and quality objectives.
Furthermore, the Director actively participates in the department’s strategic and competitive intelligence, contributing to business development by seeking new clients and contracts.

Job Description
- Supervise the Landscape Architecture team under your oversight, including performance evaluations;
- Define concepts, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project team and participate in the preparation of landscape design plans and specifications;
- Produce technical presentations, schedules, budgets, and write meeting minutes;
- Complete service proposals for various calls for tenders or clients in landscape architecture;
- Communicate with clients to determine their needs regarding landscaping and the placement of buildings and equipment;
- Coordinate the different stages of projects, mainly during the design phase, with other professionals;
- Conduct site supervision to ensure the proper progress of work in compliance with the prepared plans;
- Ensure respect for hourly budgets as well as achievement of objectives, budgets, and milestones in projects.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a university degree in Landscape Architecture;
- Accredited member of the Association of Architects and Landscape Architects of Quebec (AAPQ), membership in the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects is an asset;
- Have at least 10 years of experience in the field including project management and site supervision;
- Significant experience in project management and team leadership;
- Excellent knowledge of applicable regulatory standards;
- Strong organizational skills, leadership, and strategic mindset;
- Be creative and rigorous;
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary collaboration;
- Hold a construction site security card (ASP construction);
- Proficient in AutoCAD software;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Proficient in Adobe Suite;
- Good knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards applicable to landscape architecture;
- Excellent knowledge of plants, materials, compositions, construction techniques, and lighting;
- Spoken and written English as the position requires working on projects in Ontario and with English-speaking clients.
